SKIRLAUGH and Great Britain forward Trevor Penrose has won the BARLA Player of the Year.
The 23-year- old prop has capped a fantastic season by picking up the most prestigious award of all from a player's perspective. "It was a truly unexpected award and one a whole host of players could have won" said Penrose. "I have just gone out to play rugby and if representation has come along I have taken it. It's a big honour, not only for me but also Skirlaugh." This season Penrose captained Yorkshire in both County games as well as touring South Africa last year. He played in Morocco and was vice captain of the BARLA Open Age side.
