Two second half tries from Skirlaugh skipper Sean Wildbore were enough for his side to take their place in the Third Round of this season's Carnegie Challenge Cup with another win over Hull Dockers.

But if Wildbore took the glory of the try scoring it was the work of winger and man of the match Danny Moss which shone through.

He was defensively sound and very instrumental in his captain's two tries.

Skirlaugh coach Colin Brown Brown said: "We're in the hat for Thursday's draw, and hopefully we have a good weekend and experience against the professionals.

"This wasn't a classic but we've now won three derbies on the trot and I am very proud of the squad. We weren't consistent over the eighty minutes but played very well in spells, and scored two well worked tries."

Dockers outscored their opponents by three tries to two but once again the boot of Jordan Precious proved crucial with five goals.

It was also Skirlaugh's second victory inside three weeks over their local rivals but this time they were made to work for it.

Dockers put in a tremendous effort which was what their coach Lee Richardson had asked of them.

"Apart from the win the players did everything I asked of them out there today," said Richardson.

"It's unfortunate we have lost three home derbies in a row but it was a good game with plenty of the passion and commitment you would expect. But what we got most was our self respect back."

Three of the Precious kicks came in the form of penalties in the first ten minutes. But this spurred Dockers on to level through a Matty Emerson kick.

A third Precious penalty saw Skirlaugh retake the lead but Dockers would go in at the break leading 8-6.

They hit back on the half hour with an Adam Charlesworth try off a Sellars and Chris Stephenson combination.

Stephenson added a penalty three minutes into the second half but back came Skirlaugh through Wildbore.

Man of the match Moss picked up the ball before an offload to Paul Hannath. He went to within the shadow of the posts before Chris Brown put the skipper in.

Precious added the conversion to restore his side's lead at 12-10 before the try of the game. It came when Skirlaugh sliced open the Dockers defence for Mark Spence to race through only to be hauled down by Paul Taylor.

A quick play the ball caught Dockers on the hop as Lee Waterman, Moss, Stu Smith and Brown all combined for Wildbore's second. Precious added his fifth goal and Brown added a drop goal for a nine point lead.

Dockers never gave in despite having second row forward Craig Henry and coach Lee Richardson dismissed. They had the final say of the game with a Christian Birch try against his old club.
