Skirlaugh Parish Council Minutes - January 2004

Meeting of Skirlaugh Parish Council, 7th January 2004
 
1. The meeting was attended by Cllr. Maureen Wastling of ERYC

2. The Parish Council is pursuing its proposal to install a street map of Skirlaugh in the centre of the village, incorporating advertising from local businesses.

3. The precept for 2004.2005 has been set at £10,500, an increase of £500 on last year.  Proposed items of expenditure include support for the youth club and playing field, a contribution towards new playground equipment, repair of headstones in the closed churchyard and replacing benches.

4. There was a good turnout for the switching on of the Christmas tree lights.  It was suggested a sign be made for next Christmas to say that the tree is provided by the Parish Council and that the Salvation Army band be asked to play.

5. ERYC will  be asked to provide a name sign for Sandringham Lane and British Telecom will be asked whether they intend to repair the wall in front of the telephone exchange

6. Each month the Parish Council deals with planning applications in the village.  If any parishioner has concerns about an application, they are invited to contact the Parish Council to let them know their views.

7. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday 4th February at 7.30 p.m. in the upstairs meeting room of the Village Hall.
