Skirlaugh Village - An East Riding of Yorkshire Village

Skirlaugh Parish Council Minutes - May 2003

1.    Cllr. McLeavy was re-elected Chairman; Cllr. Terry Frost was elected Vice Chairman.  As there are still six vacancies on the council, committee posts will be filled at a later date.

2.    ERYC has replied that they will improve the street lighting on Cawood Crescent, Cawood Drive and Cawood Close.  They will be asked whether they can also provide additional lights on the footpath from Cawood Drive to Chapel Close and also at the far end of Old Forge Way.

3.    ERYC is willing to undertake planting up of the flower beds by the village name signs.  They will be asked whether this will be done free of charge to the Parish Council.  They will also be asked about reseeding areas of the grass verge damaged during water mains installation

4.    ERYC is proposing to lay block paving near the mini roundabout outside the Duke of York and is seeking quotes for the work.  It was agreed this would improve the look of this area.  It was noted that a hole in the road in Vicarage Lane has been covered by a steel plate for some time. Also, there is a dip in the road near Lambwath Villas.  This will be reported to ERYC.

5.    A community bus service is to be introduced in north Holderness villages.  It will be used as a medibus during the day but will be available for community use at other times.

6.    ERYC is proposing to introduce a flexibus to provide wheelchair accessible transport for villages between Hedon and Beverley.
