Mike McLeavy Steps Down as Parish Chairman
The Chairman of the Parish Council has stepped down after 6 years service. Mike has played a major part in the Community for many years and will continue to do so.
"I thought I had done it for long enough and it was time to step aside and give someone else the opportunity to be Chairman. I don't think it's healthy for someone to be in a role such as this for too long. I think a change every few years in good so that new ideas may come forward and perhaps a different style of leadership will be beneficial". Mike Said.
Terry who will take over from Mike as the Chairman had this to say about Mike
"He has been a very successful chairman and has taken Skirlaugh Parish Council from being a council that was 'ticking over' into a much more professional and pro-active group of people.
His management and personal skills were widely appreciated and it showed very much at meetings with him creating a cohesive council.
Mike will be missed as Chairman, but fortunately he is staying on as a valuable councillor, very willing to offer his experience to the benefit of us all."
Donald McKernan has succeeded Terry as Vice Chairman.
