Skirlaugh Play Equipment Arrives

After all the hard work we thought an official opening would be in order and therefore invite you all to the opening at 2pm on Sunday 8th May.

The committee have also had two benches donated, which Kemps’ have offered to erect for us. These will be fitted as soon as possible either within the play areas or as replacements for the broken benches already on the field.

The equipment has already proven to be very popular and it is now up to you the residents and users to look after this area. The committee cannot always be present on the field and therefore everyone needs to play their part in keeping this a safe and fun environment. The small play area should be used by those that are under eight years of age, whilst the larger area is for the older children. No ball games should be played inside the fenced area.

If you, as adults, see the equipment being mistreated please challenge the young people at the time. If everyone watches out for this area and takes an active role, then this facility should last for many years to come.

You will see that new ‘No Dogs Allowed’ signs have been placed around the perimeter of the playing field and I hope all dog owners will take note and respect this.

Finally the Playing Field AGM will be held on Tuesday 17th May 7.30pm in the Village Hall. Everyone is warmly invited and we hope to see some new faces join the committee this year – especially those with young children who use the field!

Projects applying for grants from WREN (Waste Recycling Environmental Ltd), who distribute the Landfill Tax credits of Waste Recycling Group Ltd, are assessed by an individual panel of locally based experts in each county fro their suitability, sustainability and community benefit. Doncaster-based Waste Recycling Group Ltd operates across much of the UK. The Group operates a range of facilities to receive, treat, recycle and dispose of more than ten million tonnes of waste a year. Facilities include a network of waste transfer stations and recycling centres, three liquid waste treatment plants, an energy from waste plant as well as over 60 landfill sites.
