Skirlaugh Village - An East Riding of Yorkshire Village
Skirlaugh Hit by Power Failure
Skirlaugh spent most of the afternoon and into the early evening without Electricity or low voltage due to power failure at the Cawood Drive West Sub Station on Monday. The power went off at around 11.15am and was only restored at 8.50pm that evening to normal service.
Costcutters and the Local Butchers had to close along with other businesses in the area.
This is Skirlaugh contacted Yorkshire Electricity and they gave this statement: "We are very sorry for the loss of Power to Skirlaugh and hope to have the power back on by 4.15pm" However this was not the case as more faults where found within High Voltage areas that supply the villages power. Electricity was finally restored after several hours of low voltage power throughout the afternoon.
